When Ma Tisse Met Ma Gritte is the story of Count Coagula and his pet named Ringo. When the two decide to renovate their 60’s style castle by sponsoring an art contest, two elderly mothers, who want to reinvigorate their sons’ art careers, enter their works in the competition. The remainder of the book recounts the works that Ma Gritte (Rene’s mother) and Ma Tisse (Henri’s mother) enter and how the count finally rejects both of their sons’ works and instead, selects pieces by the latest up and coming artist whose work is submitted by--Ma Lin.
